Conclusion - Preliminary Task

I do not think that my magazine was as successful as it could have been. Although I liked my overall design for the front cover my image pixalated when i added it which did not look good. I did however think that my font choice and colour scheme fitted in well with the background I had chosen to use in the picture. I think that my contents page worked a lot better and I think that my background colour of bright yellow worked quite well in comparison to the bolder lettering of the main text and titles.

Photographs - Preliminary Task

I have chosen photograph 1 because it looked the best, and was taken from a good distance, so it met the photo criteria. Photograph 2 was taken from an angle looking down at the person to make them look smaller, and i found that the overall effect did not fit with the style of my magazine. Photograph 1 was quite simple and taken from the front which looked nice, worked with the style of my magazine.

Flat Plans - Preliminary Task

For both of the fat plans I am using a 3 columned grid layout. Both my main headings on the 2 plans are in a bold, edgey sort of font to make them stand out and are written in different colours. My main text font is a sans serif font because i find it suits my magazine style better. My issue number is in a plain font like the other main text, but has a brighter colour to make it stand out. The language I am using is fairly casual because I think it suits my target audience better than if the language was very formal. On the contents flat plan I am using other pictures so that the page does not look empty.

Introduction - Set Task (Preliminary)

I have been asked to design and create a cover and contents page for a college magazine. The magazine cover must include a title and name for the magazine and a picture which has been taken by me. I am aiming my magazine at male and female students around the ages of 16 - 18.
